Fictional character biography

Deadbolt was a member of the second incarnation of the Dark Riders which were banded together by Genesis.[1] Deadbolt appeared to be a living skeleton who could extract his bones and use them as weapons.

The Dark Riders captured Cyber so that Genesis could strip his adamantium in his plan to make Wolverine his first Horseman. Deadbolt was slain by Wolverine after he rejected the adamantium and regressed to a feral state. His disembodied head was then used to lure Gauntlet into Wolverine's grasp.[2]

Deadbolt, along with several of his fellow Dark Riders, is resurrected by means of the Transmode Virus to serve as part of Selene's army of deceased mutants. Under the control of Selene and Eli Bard, he takes part in the assault on the mutant nation of Utopia.[3]

Powers and abilities

Skeletal structure is charged with bioenergy and his individual bones can be removed in pieces and used as razor sharp, high-density throwing weapons.

Film

In the 2006 movie X-Men: The Last Stand, there is a mutant involved in Magneto's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants who possesses powers much like Deadbolt's. However, this mutant is not a main villain, but just one of Magneto's many henchmen. A name is not mentioned, and the mutant is dispatched by Wolverine after a quick skirmish.
